Parson Expects End of National Emergency and the State is Reviewing Medicaid Eligibility for Those Returning to Work

(MISSOURINET) – President Biden announced in January that the COVID-19 public health emergency will expire in May. Missouri has about 200-thousand job openings. Governor Mike Parson says he expects a big shift in the number of job vacancies over the next six months. He says the state will soon begin checking whether Medicaid participants are still eligible for their benefits.

Parson says about 1.5 million Missourians are currently on Medicaid.
