Parson Hints At Support For $50 Million Budget Item To Help KC Organize World Cup

(MISSOURINET) – Missouri is one signature away from giving 50-million-dollars to help Kansas City organize the 2026 World Cup. The Missouri Legislature is proposing to designate the funding in the next state budget. During a news conference Thursday in Kansas City, Governor Mike Parson hinted at his support of the budget item. He says the state is going to showcase Kansas City and Missouri like it’s never been showcased before.

Kansas City is one of a dozen U.S. cities hosting some of the pro soccer matches, bringing together national teams from across the globe to compete on the world stage.
