Parson Plans to Prioritize Teacher Pay Again in his Next State Budget Proposal

(MISSOURINET) –  Governor Mike Parson says he’s not one and done on boosting teacher pay. The governor requested and the legislature passed this year state grants to help raise the starting pay for K-12 public school teachers from 25-thousand to 38-thousand-dollars annually. Parson’s proposal to raise pay for experienced teachers also received a legislative thumbs up. The governor says he plans to prioritize teacher pay again in his next state budget proposal.

Parson touts putting 429-million-dollars in this year’s state budget to strengthen childcare and early childhood education.
