Parson Weighs In On Proposed New Stadium For The Royals

(MISSOURINET) – Governor Mike Parson is keeping tabs on efforts by the Kansas City Royals to build a new stadium. The major league club has been tentatively planning to build a new ball park downtown, but now Clay County officials are pushing for the proposed stadium to be located in North Kansas City. Parson told KCMO’s Pete Mundo that he’s had conversations with the Royals about their future plans:

In other words, potential funding from the state to help the Royals build a new stadium. Parson says the quicker the Royals make a decision, the better, in part because the state will soon have to begin lease negotiations with the Kansas City Chiefs. There’s been speculation that the Super Bowl-winning franchise may consider building a new stadium on the Kansas side of the KC metro area.
