Pattonsburg Board Approves Base Salary Increase
Pattonsburg School Board members approved a budget for the upcoming fiscal year during their June meeting. The budget agreed to a $1,000 base salary increase and approved the non-certified salary schedule.
The board approved grant applications for a $20,000 business grant and an $11,500 Agricultural FV-4 grant that will give a return to the school if approved. A bid from Holcomb Flooring was approved for a full chip floor in the high school restrooms and the restrooms next to the gymnasium. Finish work for the HVAC in the elementary and adding a new HVAC in the high school was also approved.
Superintendent Bill Pottorff will review options for the school to obtain a new lawn mower and purchase a 10-passenger van. A QNS was also approved to make the high school wireless and improve the servers. Water and sewer service was approved for the football trailer. COVID money will be used for those purchase. Board members also agree not to offer virtual education to students.
During his report, Superintendent Bill Pottorff announced that Agriculture teachers will receive training to allow them to teach hunter safety. That training will begin in July.
In an executive session, Pattonsburg’s board hired Kelly Briggs for K-12 Band and Music in addition to being a 7th and 8th grade sponsor.
