Permit Work May Impact Traffic on the Belt Highway and Pickett Road Next Week

Commercial driveway work will shift some Saint Joseph traffic next week.

Work to a commercial driveway will require extra caution from motorists at the U.S. Route 169 (Belt Highway) and Pickett Road intersection next week.

Contractors with Bishop Asphalt Sealcoating, working under a permit obtained through the Missouri Department of Transportation, are improving the north drive (onto Pickett Road) of the US Bank facility.

Due to the nature of the work and the proximity to the Belt Highway, some traffic shifts may be necessary throughout the work, which is scheduled April 26 to 30.

These traffic shifts will remain up around-the-clock and may cause delays.

Northbound Belt Highway traffic turning right (east) will need to slow down and shift slightly north as they navigate the turn onto Pickett Road.

The turn lane from westbound Pickett Road to southbound Belt Highway may be restricted or closed during the work.

Drivers wishing to turn south may need to utilize the westbound through lane, then proceed south once they are in the intersection.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
