Pilot Walks Away from Livingston County Plane Crash

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, MO – The pilot of a plane that crashed in Livingston County yesterday walked away and was able to drive himself to the hospital. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 51-year-old Charles Peniston was involved in the crash near Sampsel around 2:15 in the afternoon. Peniston took off for crop dusting when the plane lost power. The plane struck a tree before crashing into a hay field where it caught fire.

Peniston was injured, but was able to drive himself to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.
