Platte County, Missouri State Senator Says “Vote Yes” on Amendment 4, to Mandate 25% Minimum Funding for KCPD

(MISSOURINET) –  A state senator from the Kansas City area wants Missouri voters to pass Amendment 4, which would mandate at least 25 percent of Kansas City’s budget be spent on its police department.

The Republican from Parkville says the sole reason for Amendment 4 can be traced to the Kansas City Council’s attempt last year to, quote, “defund the police:”

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas opposes Amendment 4, saying the city should decide for itself how much money to spend on its police department.
