An accident in Clay County early this (Wednesday) morning has left a Polo man with minor injuries.
According to troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 5:30 A.M. today 546-year-old Polo resident John F. Tarkington was driving a 2013 Smart car on southbound Interstate 35 at mile marker 28.2 in Clay COunty when his vehicle began to slide on the snow covered highway.
The vehicle slid into the left lane where it was struck by a 2012 Chevy Silverado being driven by 52-year-old Timothy beers of Turney, Missouri. After the impact both vehicles traveled into the median where they came to rest.
While Beers was uninjured, Tarkington suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Liberty Hospital for treatment. Both drivers were reportedly wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
