Polo Man Killed in Wednesday Crash

A Wednesday morning accident, in Ray County, turned fatal for a Polo man.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred on Highway 210, just west of Pendleton Road, when a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Polo resident Justin M. Hicks was headed westbound.

Troopers say Hicks began skidding, crossed the center of the roadway, and struck an eastbound vehicle being driven by 49-year-old Rayville resident Larry D. York.

Hicks was later pronounced dead at North Kansas City Hospital.

Troopers say York was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, while Hicks was not.
