Possible Measles Exposure Being Investigated In St. Louis Area

(Missouri Net) A case of measles contracted overseas has been confirmed in the St. Louis area, according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

Tests are being conducted by the federal CDC to determine which strain of measles it is, while health officials from the state, and from St. Charles and St. Louis counties, try to notify anyone who may have been exposed.

Measles symptoms include a rash that appears one to three weeks after exposure, along with high fever, cough, runny nose, and red watery eyes.

Anyone who’s been infected is urged to contact the Missouri Department of Health or their local public health agency
