Princeton Board Members Request Changes In Student And Staff Handbooks

Princeton School Board members voted not to approve the student nor staff handbooks for the 2022-23 school year during a meeting Monday night. The board requested the administration to revisit eligibility polices within the student handbook. The board also requested the student handbook have an additional policy clarification for staff cell phone and social media usage during school hours.

Princeton’s board approved the grant application to set a minimum teacher salary at $38,000. The request will require a local match, and funding is only guaranteed for the upcoming school year. The district will apply for the grant this week.

Princeton’s board approved the purchase of bleachers for the baseball and softball fields. The bleachers will be 5-row, 27-feet, and hold a seating capacity of 74. The cost is a little over $30,000.

Board members also discuss future applications for more electric school buses. The funding would come from the Environmental Protection Agency’s new Clean School Bus Program. That program includes $5 billion for the next 5 fiscal years.

Breakfast and Lunch prices were set for the upcoming school year. The K-through-6th grade Lunch price will be $2.75. The 7th-through 12th grade Lunch will be $3.00. The Adult Lunch will be $4.12. The K-through 12 Breakfast price will be $1.90. The Adult Breakfast price is set at $2.35.

Princeton’s board approved Ila Rae Easter as a part time Pre-School Paraprofessional. Bill Goodin was approved for Junior High History. He will also be Cross Country Coach. Josh Lisle will be Head Baseball Coach. Ashley Moore will be Girls Golf Coach.
