Princeton Council Makes Decision About Future Water Service Source

City of Princeton officials decided to continue their upgrades for producing their own water in providing their needs during a meeting Monday night. The decision came following a discussion about the matter with their engineering firm. The city had considered applications for ARPA funding for a project to upgrade their own system or becoming part of the water system that will be supplies by Lake Rathbun. Princeton made the consideration to use Lake Rathbun as a water source because of the lost of the City of Mercer and rural water as customers.

City officials also approved a $500,000 investment for lighting at the new ballfield complex. A 10-year lease agreement will be developed with the school to pay back the funding. Grundy County Lumber was approved for the lumber needed for the Concession Stand at the new ball field site. Fencing bids for the complex are due by July 27th and will be decided at the August meeting.

Council members approved a computer security contract with Jarrett Andrews. 11 service contracts were approved for the annual Calamity Jane Event.
