Princeton School Announces A Third COVID-19 Positive Test
Princeton Superintendent Jerry Girdner announced that Princeton’s School District will continue as scheduled on Tuesday following the announcement of a Princeton High School student that has tested positive for COVID-19. It is the third positive case within the district. The other two cases have resulted in full recoveries. Close contacts for the most recent positive case are now being identified by the Mercer and the Grundy County Health Departments.
Superintendent Girdner also announced that the district has been approved to offer free meals under the Seamless Summer Option program. The approval for the program will begin on Tuesday, September 15th and will remain in place until funding runs out or at the conclusion of December 2020. Students will still be required to pay for meals from August 25th to September 14th.
Students will have access to free breakfast and lunch. However, there will still be charges for extra items.
