Probable Cause Leads to Felony Charges for Cameron Man

The court found probable cause to believe a man committed the felonies as charged.

Cameron resident, 22-year-old Ja’Quawn N Jones was ordered bound over to Circuit Court of Caldwell County after an appearance via Webex with his attorney Jane Dunn on Wednesday.

Jones was arrested after an incident with a 16-year-old girl where he allegedly pushed the girl onto the hood of his car in a field on Northwest Custer Drive in Cameron. An affidavit says the girl told him no multiple times but Jones told her he had a gun in the vehicle.

He is charged with first-degree rape or attempted rape and fourth-degree child molestation with a child under 17 and older than 4 years of age. He’s scheduled for arraignment on October 12.
