A new wind power generation facility in Atchison County has gained approval from the Missouri Public Service Commission.

the commission has granted Amern Missouri a certificate of convenience and necessity (CCN) to construct, own and operate an approximate 299 megawatt wind generation facility, known as the Outlaw Project, in Atchison County.

Under the agreement the Outlaw Project will be constructed pursuant to a Build Transfer Agreement (BTA) between Ameren Missouri and Enel Kansas, LLC. Enel Kansas, LLC formed a special-purpose entity (Outlaw Wind Project, LLC) to complete the project.
Once the facility is built, Ameren Missouri will purchase 100% of the ownership interest in Outlaw Wind Project, LLC and merge Outlaw Wind Project, LLC into Ameren Missouri.

Ameren Missouri will also be required to comply with various provisions intended to mitigate the impact of the wind project on the environment and Missouri wildlife.

Ameren Missouri provides electric service to approximately 1.28 million customers in Missouri.
