PSC To Hold Local Hearing On Missouri-American Water Taking Over Stewartsville System

The Missouri Public Service Commission has announced they will be holding a local public hearing in regards to Missouri-American Water Company’s (MAWC) proposed take over of the water and sewer services in and around Stewartsville.

The local public hearing will be held on September 12 and will be conducted virtually by WebEx and telephone conference. It will also be streamed live on the Commission’s website (psc.mo.gov).

According to the application for a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity, MAWC proposes to purchase all of the water and sewer utility assets of the currently unregulated City of Stewartsville system. On November 2, 2021, voters approved the sale of the City of Stewartsville system to MAWC.

The local public hearing is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. on September 12, 2022, with a PSC Staff question-and-answer session with the formal local public hearing to follow.
