Purdin Man Killed In Tractor Trailer Crash

A Purdin man was killed in a tractor trailer crash early this (Tuesday) morning in Daviess County.

Troop H of the Highway Patrol says 60-year-old Purdin resident James H. Lloyd was driving a 1994 Freightliner tractor trailer westbound on Missouri Route 6 in Jamesport at 12:50 A.M. when his truck went off the right side of the roadway where it then struck a driveway and went airborne.

When the truck impacted the ground the trailer separated and the truck came to a rest at the bottom of a ditch and caught fire.

James was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:10 A.M. by the Daviess County Coroner.
