Ramp From Route 759 to Westbound U.S. Route 36 Now Open in St. Joseph

The ramp from Missouri Route 759 to westbound U.S. Route 36 is now open in Saint Joseph.

Contractors from Comanche Construction Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, reopened the ramp Thursday as part of the bridge rehabilitation project of the U.S. Route 36 Pony Express Bridges over the Missouri River.

A section of westbound U.S. Route 36 remains narrowed to one lane in the passing lane for concrete replacement.

Crews anticipate completing this work by Saturday.

Work under the Pony Express Bridge should not impact traffic.

The project began in January 2022, and crews were able to complete the rehabilitation of the eastbound bridge ahead of schedule in early November 2022.
