Ray County Accident Leaves Two Hurt, One facing Charges

A Tuesday afternoon accident in Ray County has left two people with moderate injuries.

Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol says 32 year-old Richmond resident Chanda R. Woods was driving a 2009 Mitsubishi Galant east bound on Missouri Route 210 west of route EE at 4:35 P.M. Tuesday when her vehicle crossed the center line and struck a westbound 2014 Volvo being driven by 30-year-old Rayville resident Jacob R. Shivers.

After the impact the Shivers vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and overturned.

The Highway patrol says both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, but both suffered moderate injuries. Woods was taken to Liberty Hospital for treatment while Shivers was taken to North Kansas City Hospital.

Woods is now facing multiple legal charges including three counts of felony possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving resulting in an crash, failing to register a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released for treatment of her injuries.
