Representatives Graves and Comer Launch Probe into Biden Administration’s Infrastructure Spending

WASHINGTON D.C. – Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Ranking Member Sam Graves of Missouri and House Committee on Oversight and Reform Ranking Member James Comer of Kentucky have launched a probe into infrastructure spending by the Biden Administration.

On Thursday, Graves and Comer sent a letter to White House Infrastructure Coordinator Mitch Landrieu requesting all documents and communications related to the $1.2 trillion in tax payer dollars authorized in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

Republican lawmakers have expressed concerns that the massive funding creates opportunities for corruption and wasteful spending; steering money away from traditionally Republican-led states and rural America; and lacks a sufficient, qualified workforce to complete the projects.

Graves says government spending has reached a record high in 2021 under President Biden and Democrat control of Congress, which has spent over $3.3 trillion taxpayer dollars and is slated to spend another $1.2 trillion. Graves and Comer said in a press release that they hope decisions regarding expenditures rely on states’ need rather than political leanings.
