A Richmond man suffered injuries and now faces a preliminary charge in a Ray County crash early Sunday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident happened around 1:55 Sunday morning on Highway 10, at Kent Street, as a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Kendall A. Hamilton drove eastbound.

Troopers say Hamilton went off the right side of the road, struck a ditch, and overturned.

Hamilton suffered serious injuries, and authorities transported him to Liberty Hospital for treatment.

Troopers report Hamilton was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Following the accident, troopers arrested Hamilton on a preliminary charge of driving while intoxicated.
