Richmond Teen Seriously Injured In Early Sunday Accident
A Richmond teenager was left with serious injuries and is facing a handful of driving related charges following a one vehicle accident early Sunday in Ray County.
According to the accident report from Troop A of the Highway Patrol, 19-year-old Richmond resident James M. Schwarz was driving a 2008 Ford Explorer truck on Route EE west of Profitt Road in Ray County at 1:40 A.M. Sunday when the truck went off the left side of the roadway.
The truck continued to drive off road before striking an embankment and going airborne. The truck then struck the ground and rolled several times, ejecting the driver.
Schwarz suffered serious injuries in the accident and was transported to Liberty Hospital for treatment.
Though released for medical treatment, Schwarz was arrested for driving while intoxicated, not wearing a seat belt, not having insurance, and failing to maintain the right half of a roadway resulting in an accident.
