Richmond Woman Hurt in Accident Avoiding Tractor

A Richmond woman was left with moderate injuries after a one-vehicle crash Sunday caused as when the driver of her vehicle tried to avoid hitting a farm tractor.

Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol says 66-year-old Richmond resident Paul L. Rogers was driving a 2014 Buick Lacrosse northbound on Ray County Route B northeast of 180th Street at 12:45 P.M. Sunday when he swerved to avoid hitting a farm tractor that was southbound in the northbound lane.

The swerve by Rogers sent his vehicle off the right side of the roadway where it struck an embankment and went airborne before impacting the ground.

Rogers and his passenger, 63-year-old Cathy E. Rogers, were both reportedly wearing seat belts at the time but Cathy Rogers suffered moderate injuries in the accident and was taken to Liberty Hospital for treatment by Ray County EMS. Paul Rogers was unhurt.
