Ridgeway Resident Killed in Wednesday Morning Crash

A Ridgeway man was killed in a traffic crash Wednesday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as 22-year old Gaige B. Sherer was driving northbound on County Road 205, just southwest of Bethany. Sherer overtook a hillcrest and met a farm tractor operated by 28-year old Bethany resident Andrew C. Darby.

Darby travelled off the west side of the roadway in an attempt to avoid Sherer’s vehicle, however the front driver’s side struck the implement towed by the tractor.

Sherer’s vehicle came to rest in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at Cameron Regional Medical Center. Sherer was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The accident was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and assisted by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department and the Harrison County First Responders.
