Rosendale Man Involved in Andrew County Accident Tuesday

(ANDREW COUNTY , MO) –   A Rosendale man was involved in an accident Tuesday in Andrew County, five miles West of Bolckow.

The Missouri State Highway patrol reports that at 4:25 P.M. a crash occurred on County Road-27 as 20-year-old Bolckow, MO resident Sage C. Scanlan was driving Westbound in a 2017 Jeep Wrangler and Rosendale resident 59-year-old Jay A. Hewitt was driving eastbound in a 2019 Kenworth Tractor.

The Jeep was driving in the middle of the road. Scanlan’s vehicle attempted to avoid Hewitt, and started sliding on the gravel roadway.

The Kenworth attempted to avoid the Jeep by travelling off the South side of the roadway.

The front driver side of Scanlan’s vehicle struck the left rear trailer axel of Hewitt’s vehicles towed unit, causing it to overturn and travel off the north side of the roadway.

The Jeep came to rest on its wheels facing South partly on the roadway, it was totaled.

The Kenworth came to a controlled stop off the South side of the roadway, it was moderately damaged.

Scanlan was transported to Mosaic Life Care in Maryville with moderate injuries, Hewitt was able to drive from the scene.
