Savannah Schools To leave Masks As Optional For Students

Just a day after the area’s largest school district announced they would require their more than 11,000 students to wear masks when school starts, a neighboring district will leave the decision to mask-up to the students and their families.

The Savannah School Board of Education voted Tuesday night to leave masks as optional for students, but they are strongly encouraging kids to wear them due to the recent spikes in COVID-19 cases across the nation and in northwest Missouri.

The first day of school in the Savannah district is Monday, August 23.
