Savannah Woman Escapes Rollover Accident With Minor Injuries

A Savannah woman was left with minor injuries following a one-vehicle rollover accident Tuesday afternoon near Cosby.

The Highway Patrol says 42-year-old Savannah resident Sarah A. Portenier was driving a 2013 Chevy Malibu northbound on Andrew County Route D about three miles northwest of Cosby at 3:36 P.M. Tuesday when the vehicle traveled off the east side of the roadway.

Portenier reportedly overcorrected which caused the car to start skidding and sliding. It then traveled off the west side of the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned coming to rest on its top facing east.

Portenier was reportedly wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and escaped with just minor injuries. She was taken by Andrew County Ambulance to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment.
