Missouri’s abortion ban currently includes an exception for health emergencies of the mother, but not for rape and incest.
Missouri U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt, a Republican, says he thinks asking Missouri voters to support the exceptions for rape and incest is inevitable.
After last year’s U.S. Supreme Court ruling on Roe versus Wade, Schmitt who was the state’s attorney general at the time, signed Missouri’s order to ban most abortions.
