Scrub Seal Work Scheduled For Route 6

A scrub seal project is scheduled for Route 6 in Daviess and Grundy counties.

Contracted by the Missouri Department of Transportation, Vance Brothers Inc. is scheduled to begin a scrub seal project on Route 6 spanning from the Thompson Creek Bridge east of Route K in Daviess County to 4th Street in Trenton.

Crews will begin work Thursday, September 17 at east end of the project and work west towards Gallatin.

They plan to work daylight hours Monday through Friday but may work Saturdays in order to complete the project by September 30.

During scrub seal operations, the roadway is reduced to one lane with flaggers and a pilot car directing motorist through the work zone.

Drivers will experience delays, both directions, as they must wait for a pilot car.

Drivers entering from a side road onto the route being sealed must also wait for a pilot car.

A 12-foot width restriction will be in place for the duration of the project.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
