Secretary Vilsack Pays Visit To Alpha Ag Summit

USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack made one of his first public appearances Friday morning since returning to the department, as the keynote panelist during our Alpha Ag Summit.

Vilsack says at the top of his to-do list is helping agriculture emerge from the coronavirus pandemic. That includes administering the relief programs approved by Congress last year.

Vilsack said he received several comments and questions from lawmakers and ag groups concerning the effectiveness of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program.

As a result of the review, signups for the third installment of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program have been extended until 30 days after USDA completes its review.

If you missed our conversation with Secretary Vilsack, you can find the complete interview on the Alpha Ag Summit website.
