Self-Inflicted Gunshot Reported This Morning in Mooresville

Livingston County authorities say a self-inflicted shooting occurred this morning in Mooresville.

Sheriff Steve Cox says deputies were called to Mooresville this morning in response to a fugitive investigation on man wanted for third-degree domestic assault.

Reports say deputies attempted talking with the felony fugitive, in trying to get him to submit to a peaceful arrest, when he pulled a gun and shot himself in the head area.

Ambulance crews arrived on-scene at 11:09 this morning and took the fugitive to an area hospital.

The status and severity of the injuries are currently unknown.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control has been requested to investigate the incident.
