Semi Driver Seriously Injured In Accident Caused By Blown Tire

A St. Joseph truck driver was left with serious injuries in an accident Monday just before noon when a tire blew out.

The Highway Patrol says 44-year-old Joshua M. Asher was driving a 2003 Peterbilt 357 northbound on I-29 one mile south of Corning in Holt County at 11:57 A.M. when the front passenger tire blew out and the truck went off the east side of the roadway.

It then traveled down an embankment and into a field where it came to rest on its drivers side.

Asher was reportedly wearing a seat belt at the time but still suffered serious injuries. He was taken by Atchison Holt EMS to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment.
