Sen. Blunt Details Agricultural and Infrastructure Funding

Missouri Senator Roy Blunt detailed some of the agricultural and infrastructure funding within the 2022 Fiscal Year Appropriations.

The package will include $3.5 billion in agricultural research through the Agriculture Research Service and the National Institute of Food and Agriculture. Agriculture and food research will receive $455 million. $1.5 million will be allocated to Livestock Genetic Research. The Farm Service Agency programs will receive $1.2 billion. There has been $904 million allotted for Natural Resources Conservation Service programs. $10 million of that funding will be used for the East Locust Creek Reservoir Project.

Rural Broadband will receive $486 million for a ReConnect Pilot Program that will target broadband service for areas that now lack broadband access. $1.45 billion has been designated for water and electric infrastructure.

$100,000 is included for a Lower Missouri River Flood Risk and Resiliency Study for Holt County. A total of $8 million has been allotted to the Army Corps of Engineers.
