(Missourinet) A Missouri elections bill scheduled to become law next month could be challenged in court before the November elections. The Missouri Voter Protection Coalition has said it plans to file a lawsuit against the legislation which would require government-issued photo identification to vote in Missouri. State Senator Tony Luetkemeyer, of northwest Missouri’s Parkville, says he feels the legislature is on very strong footing. . .
The Missouri Voter Protection Coalition says many provisions of the bill are unconstitutional, infringe on the fundamental right to vote and infringe on the free speech and free association rights of organizations that help voters get access to the voting process.
