Senator Hawley Says No to Expansion of NATO

(MISSOURINET) – Senator Josh Hawley voted at odds with all of his Republican colleagues – as they voted 95 to 1 to ratify NATO membership for Finland and Sweden.
Missouri Senator Josh Hawley did *not* vote for the two countries to join the NATO alliance in Europe.
Both countries have stayed neutral in the past, but now have added defense capabilities since Russia invaded Ukraine.
Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell said: “This is a slam dunk for national security that deserves unanimous bipartisan support.”
