Serious Injury Early Wednesday Morning in Andrew County
Two Kansas City men were injured in an early morning accident in Andrew County.
According to a report from the Missouri Highway Patrol, 20-year-old Zion W. Thornton was driving with passenger 20-year-old Marquel D. Petite-Pilgram south on I-29 at mile marker 51.2 just north of St. Joseph.
At 12:27 am, the vehicle traveled off the east side of the roadway, crossed the median and northbound lanes striking a guardrail. The vehicle overturned and traveled down an embankment coming to rest on its wheels facing north.
Thornton was seriously injured and was transported by Buchanan County EMS to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph before being taken to KU Medical Center.
Pettite-Pilgram was moderately injured and was taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Jos by Andrew County EMS.
The Andrew County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.
