The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple thefts from vehicles over the weekend, as well as two stolen vehicle reports. The sheriff’s office reports most of the thefts were in the vicinity of US Highway 36 and are believed to be thefts of opportunity.

Each vehicle was unlocked and officers say the two vehicles that were stolen had the keys in the vehicle.

The sheriff’s office reminds citizens to secure their vehicles when not in use. Items of value should not be left in the seat or out in the open. Keys should never be left in unattended vehicles.
