Sexual Assault Survivors Bill of Rights Becomes Law in Missouri

(MISSOURINET) – A new Missouri law is designed to help rape victims. The sexual assault survivors bill of rights gives them the right to access an interpreter and lets them know where their sexual assault kit test results are in the forensics process. State Senator Holly Rehder (RAY-durr), of southeast Missouri’s Scott City, says she was passionate about including provisions in her bill that block the sexual history of survivors from being used against them in court…

A statewide task force aimed at better helping rape victims came up with several recommendations last year, including provisions in this new law.
