Shakeup in Missouri Government Leadership

(Missourinet) There is a shake-up in state government leadership. Joey Parker reports.

Governor Parson has announced his Deputy Chief of Staff, Robert Knodell, will become the Acting Director of the Department of Social Services, effective October 18.

Acting Director Jennifer Tidball will then resume her position as Chief Operating Officer of that department. The state agency has been criticized by some lawmakers and members of the public for recent controversies involving missing foster children and reports of abuse among boarding school students, for instance.

Other cabinet changes include Missouri Department of Revenue Director Ken Zellers serving as Office of Administration Acting Commissioner, effective immediately. OA Commissioner Sarah Steelman has stepped down.

Missouri Department of Mental Health Director Mark Stringer is retiring at the end of the year.

Valerie Huhn, current Missouri Department of Mental Health Deputy Director, will become the acting director in November.
