South Harrison Board Approved Bids For Parking Lot, Bus Road Construction And Electric Bus

South Harrison School Board members approved the bids for the concrete construction of the south high school parking lot and the concrete pavement of the bus road during a special meeting held on Wednesday.

South Harrison board members approved a bid of $479,002 from BRS Construction for the concrete pavement of the high school’s south parking lot. The board considered bids for a concrete construction and an asphalt project.

The board also approved a bids of $312,833 to BRS Construction for the concrete pavement of the bus road. The board also took a bid for an asphalt project. The concrete work construction projects will be done after the end of the current school year.

Two grants were also approved for grants that will be used to finance an electric bus for the school district. The USDA will provide just over $125,000. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will provide nearly $179,000. The Lion Electric Company will provide the electric bus at a cost of $357,775. The board reviewed 3 bids. The Lion Electric Company’s bid was the only one that included a charger.

South Harrison’s board also reviewed some of the costs that are associated with new lighting for the football field and a new football scoreboard. The financing for that work will be done through a fundraising project.
