South Harrison School Board members approved the bids that will be summer projects for campus upgrades during their April meeting on Monday night.
South Harrison approved a bid to Herzog Construction for the paving work that will be done for the high school’s front drive. The bid was $85,000. C&R Construction received the bid for the South Harrison Elementary front driveway work for $135,208. They were also approved to pour the concrete pad at the football and track complex where new bleachers will be placed. They also won the bid for work in the middle and high school. Heartland Seating received the bid for bleachers at the football and track facility. Marsh, Espey, and Merrill were approved for the school’s audit.
South Harrison’s board approved the list of summer school staff for this year’s summer school program. To this point, 234 students have signed up to be part of the program. There will be breakfast and lunch served as part of the summer school program.
South Harrison student Brooklyn Ellis was also announced as the recipient of the Region 2 John T. Belcher Memorial Scholarship. She also presented her essay on the lessons learned by the COVID-19 pandemic from a student’s perspective.
Dr. Caleb Guernsey also took to oath of office as the appointed South Harrison School Board member.
