South Harrison Board Holds Capital Projects Work Session

South Harrison School Board Members held a work session Thursday to review a list of capital projects that may be considered by the district in the immediate and near future Thursday night. With the work session, projects were presented for review for all of the buildings that are part of the South Harrison School System. The projects included parking lot maintenance and development at both the elementary and high school campuses, HVAC replacement, new hall flooring for the elementary, locker replacement, football lighting, new bleachers, dirt work at the football field stadium, and signage. All were projects had been provided as input from staff members and administrators. Superintendent Dennis Eastin asked board members to prioritize those projects and slot them into projects that may be done in the next one, two, or three years. He suggested that the school district could spend $240,000 for capital projects. South Harrison has their regular March meeting planned for Monday night.

Superintendent Eastin also reported that South Harrison can expect a 3.1 percent increase in their health insurance for the upcoming year.
