Southwest Iowa Teacher/Coach Arrested on 46 Felony Charges

A Creston, Iowa teacher and coach is facing 46 criminal charges going back to 2013.

Ryan Kissell, a high school teacher and football coach is charged with 24 counts of various lascivious acts with a child and 21 counts of second-degree sexual abuse.

Kissell was hired as a special education teacher for Nodaway Valley High School in May and head football coach of Nodaway Valley/Orient-Macksburg.  He previously taught in the Creston Community School District and coached multiple sports.

The criminal complaint filed with the Union County court on August 13th alleges the underage victim reported the sexual assaults took place multiple times over the past decade. A warrant for Kissell’s arrest was served yesterday. No bond is set until his initial appearance.
