Southwest Iowa Woman Seriously Injured in Accident South of Mound City

HOLT COUNTY, MO – An accident overnight on I-29 in Holt County left an Iowa woman with serious injuries.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident took place around 8:40 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-29, 13 miles south of Mound City. Twenty-four year old Sara Skalberg of Shenandoah, Iowa was in the southbound lane when her vehicle was struck by the towed unit of a Peterbilt truck driven by 28-year old Harpreet Singh of Fresno, California as he attempted to merge to the driving lane.
Both vehicles skidded to the driving lane shoulder and came to rest.
Skalberg was taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph with serious injuries. Singh was not injured.
