Spire Gas Lowering WNAR Charge

Spire gas customers will see a slightly lowered bill starting in April.

The changes reflect an adjustment to the Weather Normalization Adjustment Rider (WNAR) which authorizes rate adjustments based on weather variations. The purpose of the WNAR tariff is to adjust revenues, either positive or negative, for differences between actual heating degree days and normal heating degree days.

A Spire Missouri East residential customer using 100 Ccf’s (10,000 cubic feet) of natural gas in a given billing month will see a decrease in the WNAR rate of approximately $0.68 a month, while a Spire Missouri West residential customer using 100 Ccf’s of natural gas in a given billing month will see a decrease in the WNAR rate of approximately $0.66 a month.

Spire Missouri West provides natural gas service to approximately 522,000 customers including those in Andrew, Buchanan, Carroll, Clay, Clinton, DeKalb, Lafayette, Platte, and Ray counties.
