St. Joe Man Killed in Kansas Runaway Truck Accident

A St. Joseph man was killed Thursday in Atchison County, Kansas when he was struck by an out of control drivelers truck and trailer.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 61-year-old St. Joseph resident David W. Richardson was chasing after a Chevy Silverado and trailer that was moving out of control and without a driver at about 2:20 Thursday afternoon on private property along U.S. Highway 73.

Authorities say Richardson was struck by the vehicle when it jackknifed, suffering fatal injuries.
