St. Joseph Bridge Closing Next Week

The bridge over Interstate 29 at Cook Road in Saint Joseph will close next week for core drilling and materials testing ahead of a planned construction project.

Crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation plan to close the bridge on Monday, August 14, at noon.

The bridge will close daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday.

MoDOT expects to finish work by Wednesday, August 23.

A project to replace the bridge’s deck will go out for contractor bidding in February.

Motorists will need to seek an alternate route during this time.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
