St. Joseph Bridges Set to Close Through June for Maintenance

Several St. Joseph area bridges are scheduled to close for bridge maintenance beginning Monday, May 22.

Crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation will close the roadway while completing bridge/ramp repairs and yearly maintenance.

The tentative schedule is as follows:

May 22: Westbound U.S. Route 36 to Interstate 229 south turn lane
May 23: I-229 ramp to U.S. Route 36 west
May 30: Cook Road bridge over I-29
May 31: Gene Field bridge over I-29
June 5: Route AC bridge over U.S. Route 36

The project is scheduled to be completed by mid-June.

Motorists will need to seek an alternate route.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
