St. Joseph Board of Education member Whitney Lanning faces a second-degree harassment charge after an interaction with another elected official.
Wednesday, officials acknowledged a February 26th “incident arising from a disagreement” between two school board members.
A probable cause statement alleges that Lanning approached the complainant in the doorway as she was leaving, yelled at her, and followed her into multiple rooms, throwing items at a wall.
Those two members have reportedly been confirmed to be Lanning and Isaura Garcia.
The charge Lanning faces is a misdemeanor, and won’t involve an arrest, according to prosecutor Michelle Davidson.
Lanning’s first court appearance is Wednesday, April 3rd at 1 p.m.
